Barnsdall’s Thomas Smith turns for the trip in the third round of Saturday’s Ben Johnson Memorial Steer Roping at the Osage County Fairgrounds Arena. Smith finished third out of 93 ropers who competed in the PRCA-sanctioned event. The 25-year-old earned nearly $6,000 at the local event. The local squad was scheduled to play Tuesday at Sperry and will travel to Cleveland on Thursday. For the final week of the league schedule, Pawhuska will have Tuesday games at Dewey (versus the Lady Doggers at 9 a.m. and Foyil at 10) and will host Cleveland (9 a.m.) and Foyil (10 a.m.) at the home field Thursday.
