Pawhuska High School cheerleaders will be back in action next week for home basketball games Monday versus Newkirk and Tuesday against Caney Valley. Tip-off for the Lady Huskies is at 6:30 p.m. and the boys’ contests start at 8 p.m. at Oren Terrill Field House. Pawhuska wrestlers return to the mat Tuesday at Newkirk and then participate in the Cushing Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The next Huskie home matches will be Monday, Jan. 12. Nightengale and another PHS sophomore, 170-pounder Caleb Bruce, both escaped with close decisions in their bouts against the Maroons, who are the No. 3-ranked high school squad in Oklahoma Class 3A. Coach Wade Rogers and the Huskie grapplers are to wrap up the 2014 portion of their season this weekend at the Kingfisher Tournament.
