Lady Huskies out of soccer playoffs, 1-0

WAGONER — For the second straight year, Pawhuska allowed the Wagoner Lady Bulldogs just one goal in their play-in match to Oklahoma’s Class 4A high school soccer tournament.

The Huskie golfers participated in an Oklahoma 2A High School Regional held Monday at Pryor Creek Golf Course. Last week, the PHS squad advanced through a 2A qualifier at Clary Hills Golf Club in Sapulpa. Thompson continued his season-long assault on area links by shooting a team-leading round of 78. Collins carded an 86, followed by Bighorse with an 87 and Hughes (107). The Huskies are attempting to play their way into the Class 2A State Tournament for a second straight year. The Huskies earned a chance to play their way to the Class 2A State Tournament for a second straight year Monday by advancing through a 2A qualifier held at the Clary Hills Golf Club in Sapulpa. Pawhuska High School senior Trey Red Eagle inked a basketball scholarship with Oklahoma Wesleyan University last Thursday during a ceremony at PHS. Pictured with the Huskies’ star are his father and mother, Creighton and Karen Red Eagle. Also shown is Josh Young, a former star player for the Bartlesville university who is in his second season as an assistant to OKWU head coach Mark Mulder. In 2014, Young earned honors for the Eagles on the basketball court as well as oin track and field, as he finished second in the nation at NAIA Division II high jump competition.
