William D. “Bill” Ikenberry

William Dallas “Bill” Ikenberry was born on May 30, 1922 to William Franklin “Bill” and Lillian (Jones) Ikenberry.

He went to heaven surrounded by his family on Nov. 22, 2013.

Bill was raised in rural Osage County and attended Barnsdall Schools. He was married to Nora Alice Langan on March 1, 1946 after his tour of duty in the Navy. Together they raised four daughters. Bill worked hard in the oil field and hayfields to provide for his family. Bill was a friend to all those he met and will be remembered for his warm smile and kind heart.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Nora; two grandsons, Anthony Karl McGill and William “Billy” David McGill; one sister, Trivian Rogers; two brothers, Wallace Franklin Ikenberry and Donald Wayne Ikenberry.

Bill is survived by daughters Elizabeth Ann and husband Wayne Henderson of Skiatook, Okla., Nora Alice and husband Larry Grice of Abilene, Texas, Barbara Sue and husband Merle Long of Barnsdall, Okla., Janet Lee and husband Ralph McGill of Wynona, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Ann Bruce of Bartlesville, Okla. and one brother James Edward Ikenberry of Blackwell, Okla.; and a host of family and great friends.

Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was recited Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska. Father Chris Daigle officiated. Interment was in the Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall, Okla.

Graveside Military Honors were provided by the American Legion.

McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
