Stephen Thomas Wilcox

Pawhuska native Stephen Thomas Wilcox, 61, of Topeka Kan., died Thursday May 9, 2013 at Atria Hearthstone East in Topeka.

He married Anne Catherine Reinking on Oct. 26, 1996 in Maple Hill, Kan., who survives of the home.

Wilcox is also survived by his sons Atticus Collin Wilcox, Topeka; Travis Keith Wilcox, Skiatook,Okla.; his mother Marjorie Wilcox of Pawhuska; a brother James Michael Wilcox of Oklahoma City; and an Aunt Mary Ann Strong of Lawrence Kan.

Preceding him in death were brothers Charles Roger Wilcox and John Patrick Wilcox.

Wilcox was born on April 21, 1952 in Pawhuska, the son of Charles and Marjorie Kennedy Wilcox. He grew up in Pawhuska and attended local schools graduating from Pawhuska High School. Most recently he was employed as an inspector for the tribal gaming commission at the Pottawatomie Prairie Band Casino in Mayetta, Kan.

He was a 26-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Other interests included being an accomplished guitarist, target shooting with his son, Atticus, and his love of animals

A Mass of Resurrection was held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Private burial was to be held at a later date. Visitation were held at the church.
