Mary Fish

Mary Elizabeth Fish, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at her home in Pawhuska, Okla.

Mary was born Nov. 13, 1926 in Pawhuska, the daughter of Girard and Pauline (Williams) Blackbird. In 1945, she married Buck Thompson Fish in Fairfax, Okla. He preceded her in death.

In her younger years, Mary served as a missionary. She loved to sing and play the piano at Church. Mary was a member of the Osage Tribe of Indians.

Surviving are her daughter Irma Maye and husband, Ronnie; her son, Girard Fish and wife, Carrie; grandchildren, Sarah Fish, Shannon Maye Justice, John David Maye and Christa Maye Beets; one niece and nephew, Cecelia Heath and Joseph Blackbird Cheshewalla; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, along with other family and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, June 24, at the Grayhorse Indian Chapel, Fairfax, Okla. John David Maye officiated. Interment was in the Grayhorse Cemetery.

McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
