Larry J. Moore, 51, Pawhuska native, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2013.
Larry was born Jan. 29, 1962 in Pawhuska, the son of Roy J. and Myrtle Lou (Mundy) Moore. He attended schools in Pawhuska, graduating with the Pawhuska High School Class of 1980. On March 20, 1982, he married the former Penny Morledge in Pawhuska. Larry worked at Formby Oil as a fuel delivery driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. An avid fan of Oklahoma State University, he enjoyed tailgating before the OSU games. He was a charter member of the Bluestem Yacht Club — Dead End Chapter. Larry certainly enjoyed the time he got to spend playing with his grandbabies.
Surviving family includes: His wife, Penny Moore; two sons, Chris and wife, Caitlin Moore, and Charles and wife, Amber Moore; two brothers: Jerry and wife, Mary Moore, and Terry and wife, Beverly Moore; two sisters, Wanda and husband, Kenny Melton, and Darlene Moore; two grandchildren, Eli Johnathan Moore and Emory Jane Moore; his honorary parents, Larry and Jan Banks; and a host of other family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 15, at the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska with the Rev. Mark Formby officiating. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
