Kendall Ray Taylor

The book of life closed for Kendall Ray Taylor on Nov. 25, 2013.

Kendall was born to Erlene Shacklefoot Taylor and Terry Ray Taylor on Sept. 3, 1984.

He graduated from Pawhuska High School in 2004. While in high school, he participated in basketball, football and track and field. In Kendall’s spare time, he enjoyed cooking, cutting wood, fishing and hunting. Kendall was devoted to his nieces and sons youth sports activities. He loved his family and friends.

In high school, Kendall and his friends formed “The POSSE.” This is a brotherhood that will always stick together and have each other backs. Whenever a friend was in need, he was ready to lend a helping hand. Kendall was also known for his big, kind heart. He was an inspirational man, loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him. He will never be forgotten – he will be missed.

Kendall is survived by his mother, Erlene Shacklefoot Taylor, and father, Terry Ray Taylor; two sisters, Crystal Taylor and Amber Taylor; two children, Tyrek Taylor and Seryna Gonzales; two nieces, Kiana and Ne’Jaeh Taylor; grandfather Charles Shacklefoot; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, mothers and fathers of The POSSE and friends.

Kendall was a jack of all trades at many jobs: Osage County Juvenile Detention Center, Osage County Jail, chef at Jane Phillips Hospital, Pawhuska Police Department and lumberjack for Bill Lott Construction.

Preceding him hin deather were sister Stephanie Ann Taylor; paternal grandparents Fred and Erma Taylor; maternal grandmother Olivia Shacklefoot; aunts Betty Shacklefoot, Doris Mitchell, Gayle Graham and Armistine Davis; uncles Kenny Shacklefoot, Fred Taylor, Jr., Dale Taylor and T.C. Davis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska. Rev. Travis Finley will officiate. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.

McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
