John R. (Rick) Plumleigh, age 57, lost his battle with cancer and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Antioch (Light House) Church in Wynona, Okla. with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be John Israel, Sonny Whitson, Rick Townley, Larry Howell, Tyler Jones and Jim Potter.
Rick is survived by his five siblings: Teresa Vaden of Wynona; Johnnie Yozzo and husband, Mark, of Tulsa; Elaine Fulsom of Cedar Vale, KS; Sue Plumleigh of Wynona; and Carrie Morris and husband, Jason, of Barnsdall; eleven nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, and lots of close friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents John and Mickie Plumleigh.
Rick was born on Sept. 29, 1956 in Pawhuska He was raised in Wynona and graduated from Wynona High School in 1975. Rick started work with Fulsom Construction out of Cedar Vale, Kan. in 1976 and worked for Fulsom Construction up until a year ago when he was diagnosed with cancer.
Rick was a loving son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed riding horses and roping. He had a soft spot in his heart for children and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He had a heart of gold and was generous to everyone he met.
