John E. Fox, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Bartlesville.
John was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Independence, Kan., the son of Homer and Elizabeth (Dye) Fox. On Nov. 3, 1995, he married the former Linda Swanson in Pawhuska. John was an electrical lineman for the City of Pawhuska, where he worked for 31 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a ham radio operator and storm watcher. He also enjoyed operating radio controlled cars, gun collecting and motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Fox; children, Watan Sweezy, Daniel Sweezy, Tina McCosar and Chelia Armour; siblings, Helen Fox Erickson and Phillip Ashley; nine grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bill Fox, Homer “Bowser” Fox Jr., Jerry Fox, Betty Jo Fox Thompson, Ron Fox, Mary Fox Sprage and Jean “Jeannie” Ashley Walker.
It was John’s wish to be cremated. Those who wish may pay their respects from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the New Ethel Reese Cemetery, Barnsdall. Judge B. David Gambill will officiate. Interment will follow.
