Jim T. Shipp passed away Jan. 1, 2014 at home.
He was born in Hominy, Okla. on May 6, 1947, to Paul Thomas Shipp, Sr., and Catherine Todd Shipp. He was brother to Paul, Jr. and John. He married Midge, his wife of nearly 44 years, in Miami, Okla.
Jim was a family man, a hard-working oilfield man and an avid hunter and fisherman. He had an interest and passion for knives and was known for his file work on knives. He was honorably mention and recognized by knife maker, Jim Parker.
Jim was known for his giving spirit and generous hear — quick to help out anyone he knew and happy to do it.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Midge; his son, Jake Shipp and wife, Brandi, and their children, Frankie, Christopher, Jonathan and Leslie; his daughter Joanne Cappel of Decatur, Texas, her children Chance and Beth Robinson; daughter Jessie Elliot and husband Jake and their children Boone, Maggie and Chloe of Burbank, Okla.; many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A private celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
