Carol Jo Eggers, 61, died Friday, May 9, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in Carol’s honor to Rivercross Hospice, 3723 SE Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
Carol was born Dec. 18, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Joe and Mae Dell Brown. Reared in Bartlesville, she was a proud graduate of the College High School Class of 1971. In 1973, Carol met Steve Eggers, and they were married in December of 1974 in Bartlesville. By 1975, the Eggers had moved to Pawhuska where together, they became the route carriers for the Tulsa World newspaper.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family contends that she was certainly a member of the homemaker hall of fame. Carol loved the simple life, being unmaterialistic, unselfish and giving to all. She loved gardening, starting many things from seeds and nurturing them to full growth. She enjoyed flowers of all varieties during the spring and summer months, her favorites being begonias, impatiens and hibiscus. Carol had created a backyard haven at the family home where she also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, especially the blue birds.
Surviving family include, her husband, Steve Eggers; children, Eric Eggers and Stephanie Eggers; her mother, Mae Dell Brown; and grandchildren, Nathan, Eli and Landon.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Joe Brown.
