Barbara L. Longacre, 76, of Davidson, Okla., passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Hereford, Texas

Funeral service were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Chadwick officiating.

Burial followed in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick..

Barbara Lou (Palmer) Longacre was born August 6, 1937, in Frederick, Okla. to William Luther “Bill” and Zula (Simmons) Palmer. She attended Weaver Consolidated #13, graduating from Weaver High School in 1954. On Nov. 25, 1954, she and Gary John Longacre were united in marriage. She later attended Oklahoma State University receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. She taught at Sedan, and Eureka, Kan., Weaver and Davidson Public Schools, were she retired

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Davidson and the Oklahoma Educators Association.

Survivors include three daughters, Lori Culver and husband Stan of Hereford, Texas, Lisa Drake and husband Gary of Elk City, Okla. and Lana Stidham, and husband Tony of Stephenville, Texas; one son, Gary John Longacre, II and wife Vhonda of Lawton, Okla.; one brother, Deverelle Palmer and wife Carla Beth of Kimberling City, Missouri; ten grandchildren, John Wayland Culver, Kelsey Jo Culver, Gatlin Drake, Gymin Drake, Augusta Stidham, Amanda Stidham, Jessica Zupper and husband J.J., Lindsey Longacre, Caitlin Longacre and Gary John “Trey” Longacre, III; and two great-grandchildren, Braycen Drake and Remington Culver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Thomas Palmer; and one granddaughter, Cassidy Longacre.

A memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Longacre Scholarship Fund in care of Davidson Public Schools in memory of Barbara L. Longacre.
