Anson-Richard Curtis Carrington, 57, died Friday, July 26, 2013, in Abilene.
Born December 28, 1955, in Pawhuska, Okla., Richard was the son of Curtis Spurgin and Vina (Couch) Carrington. He entered the U.S. Air Force, Sept. 19, 1974, in Tulsa, Okla. He retired Oct. 1, 1994, at Dyess Air Force Base after serving 20 years. He then worked for Lockheed Martin and the City of Anson. He was a member of the Methodist church.
He married Theresa Charlene McNeely, April 26, 1975 in Anson.
Survivors include his wife Theresa Carrington; daughter Crystal Lasher (and husband Joe) of Kettering, Ohio; son Curtis Mac Carrington (and wife Lisa) of Anson; six grandchildren, Dylan, Derek and Brittany Lasher and Nicholas, Damon, and Zach Carrington; four sisters, Charlotte Milleson (and husband Wilford) of Pawhuska, Letty Bradley of Pawhuska, and Elaine Carrington of Pawhuska; brother Curtis “Sarge” Carrington of Okla.; special nephew Collin Gardner; special niece Charley Gardner; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan Brazee and Jean Gauger; and two nephews, Jack Vaden and Brice Milleson.
Visitation was be 6- to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home with Cody Cochran officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery at Tuxedo.
