VETERAN REPRESENTATIVE AT WYNONA TOWN HALL
Just a reminder that Lee Webb, is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 until 12:30 to help Veterans with their benefits. This is a great opportunity for veterans and should be utilized by all that are qualified. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details.
VA HEALTHCARE AND THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
If you are enrolled in VA Healthcare, you don’t need to take additional steps to meet the health care law coverage standards. If you are not enrolled in VA Health Care, you can enroll at any time. For an application and requirements, contact Lee Webb at the Friday meeting from 11:30 until 12:30. If you have been turned down for VA Health Care in the past or you are a younger Veteran, this is very important to you!
WYNONA TRASH UPDATE
This is just a reminder from the Wynona Trash company, J C & Sons, that ALL trash is to be bagged, even if it is put in the polycarts. The trash people will not pick it up if it is not in bags. This has been the rule from the beginning of this service.

WYNONA SCHOOL NOTES
(submitted by Dixie Hurd,
Thank you to our community for passing our bond election! The bonds won’t be sold until June so the renovations won’t take place until next year, but we are excited about the future improvements that will be coming our way. We really appreciate the support that our patrons always show for our students! These bond elections are what allow schools to make major improvements and to purchase transportation equipment.
We are proud to announce that our elementary student council officers are: President Ally Robinson; Vice-President Ruthie Hough; Secretary Tara Hough; and Treasurer Desiree Rikard. Congratulations to these students!
Parent conferences will be Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 19. Both evenings will start at 3:45 and end at 7 p.m. Please contact your child’s teacher to make an appointment! The results of last year’s state testing will also be available at that time. Our last home softball game will be Thursday, Sept. 19 at 4:30 p.m. We hope you can come support our team!
Please be sure students are not on school grounds before 8:10 p.m.. There is no supervision until that time. We want our students to be safe, and without supervision, they are not safe. If students are here on off school hours, they should always be supervised by an adult!
Our parent teachers organization is promoting selling t-shirts and popcorn at this time. Please support our students and teachers if you can. The t-shirts are a great way to promote school spirit! Our next meeting is Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. We plan to be processing the popcorn orders that evening and would appreciate all help!
We are always appreciative of volunteer help! We love to have community members come into our schools and read to children or listen to them read to you. If you have spare time and would like to help, please call the school to set up a time to volunteer!
