Osage Hills club sets end-of-August hikes

Osage Hills Hiking Club has scheduled End-of-August Hikes for Saturday, Aug. 30, at Osage Hills State Park.

Registration will take place at the Barn (a mile north of the OHSP office) at 8:15 a.m., prior to the start of hiking.

Intermediate and advanced hikes are being offered, club members said. The three-mile intermediate hike lasts around two hours, while the six-mile advanced hike will take approximately four hours to complete. Both hikes are moderately paced and include frequent water stops.

Participants should wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots. They also should bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks and drinks, plus rain gear (just in case).
