TULSA — Bids were recently opened for Commissioner Bob Jackson’s LB May Drive and old SH 99 overlay and Mud Creek bridge replacement project.
The project is from Farrell Drive to SH 99 including replacement of the bridge over Mud Creek. The old bridge was built in 1980 and has been closed because it was structurally deficient and has since collapsed. The new bridge and roadway was designed by Guy Engineering Services, Inc., of Tulsa.
The new bridge is a 125 feet long, 32 feet clear roadway pre-stressed concrete beam bridge.
The low bidder was Becco Contractors of Tulsa, with a bid of $2,243,776.80.
The construction is funded by the Osage Nation and is an example of how Osage County and Osage Nation often work together for the benefit of their citizens. The project is scheduled to take 10 months and construction should begin in October.
The road will remain open to local traffic during construction but closed at the bridge.
