Investigators: Alcohol caused teen incident in Wynona

A Friday rape investigation involving two teenagers in Wynona determined that neither girl had been sexually assaulted, according to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.

They were intoxicated, however, officials said. The girls, ages 14 and 15, were reported to be in stable condition Friday afternoon at a Tulsa hospital.

Later in the day, OCSO deputies arrested a young Wynona man in connection with the girls’ drinking episode. Records from the Osage County Jail records show Wesley Taylor, 18, was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Both girls were described as “unresponsive” when they were found around 4:30 a.m. Friday in the yard of a Wynona residence.

After first being taken to Pawhuska Hospital, the two girls were transferred by ambulance to a Tulsa medical facility — where they were examined as possible rape victims.

Tulsa sex-crimes detectives assisted in conducting the tests, which indicated that no rape had occurred in the Osage County incident.

Investigators are attempting to find out how the 18-year-old might have obtained the alcohol, officers added.
