Drummond Home News Christmas celebration planned for December 8

The Friends of the Fred Drummond Home would like to invite everyone to its annual Christmas celebration.

The event will be held between 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the home site.

Planned for this year again is the Parade of Historic Santas, with Martha Ray of Pawnee bringing her entourage of historic Santas who will be re-enacting Santas from different countries and dressed in time period clothing. They will be there to visit with and to hand out treats to all, children and adults alike.

Also, the band Finegans Awake will be playing their beautiful Scottish/Celtic folk songs.

The home will be decorated accordingly for the Christmas holidays and Open House tours will be available. Afterwards, refreshments will be available.

There will be a small admission fee taken at the door of $3 for adults, $2.50 for seniors (65-plus) and $1 for children 6 to 18 years. Children 5 and under are free. For more information, call 918-885-2374. All proceeds will benefit the Drummond Home.

The home is located at 305 North Price in Hominy. Normal hours of operation are Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with tours given between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the last tour starting at 4 p.m.
