Candidate filing dates set for 2014 school elections

Candidates for the Board of Education in Osage County School Districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

Andrea Conner, Secretary of the Osage County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4. Last time to file contest of candidacy or to withdraw is by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled Feb. 11, 2014. If no candidate received more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in an election on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Offices for which Declaration of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office include the following:

Anderson C-52 Office #3 – 3 yr. term

Avant C-35 Office #2 – 3 yr. term

Barnsdall I-29 Office #4 – 5 yr. term

Bowring C-7 Office #1 – 3 yr. term

Hominy I-38 Office #4 – 5 yr. term

McCord C-77 Office #1 – 2 yr. unexpired term & Office #3 – 3 yr. term

Osage Hills C-3 Office #3 – 3 yr. term

Pawhuska I-2 Office #4 – 5 yr. term

Prue I-50 Office #4 – 5 yr. term

Shidler I-11 Office #4 – 5 yr. term

Woodland I-90 Office #6 – 4 yr. term & Office #7 – 4 yr. term

Wynona I-30 Office #4 – 5 yr. term
