Wynona Youth are hosting their second fundraiser Friday evening with Bingo and a Silent Auction. All monies raised will help defray expenses for their planned trip to Washington, DC.
A number of tempting items are up for bid. Some of the youth are offering to help the winning bidder with two hours of labor. Other items collected include a deep fryer, baked goods, a handbag and a Scentsy Basket.
A concession stand with soda, water, chips and candy bars will also be available.
Nineteen students have committed to visiting the Nation’s Capital, along with some family members. Students range from the 6th – 12th Grades and include Jayme Ingram, Koldhin, Kassidee Choutea, Lynzee Park, Kenzie Macauley, Max Waggie, Timber Waggie, Clara Hough, Joseph Rodriguez, Sami Hamilton, Arayna Surrett, Lacey Surrett, Jason Richmond, and Shaylea Howell.
According to event co-sponsor Shelly Shulanberger, their first fundraiser at the Wynona Founder’s Day raised $361. Their goal is $14,000. More fundraisers are being planned throughout the school year.
“We are planning a Movie Night in Wynona,” said Shulanberger. “For $5, guests will get to enjoy an outdoor movie shown on the side of the building, popcorn, soda or water.”
Wynona students will get a break from the regular lunch fare twice a month when the group sponsors pizza and a drink during the school lunch hour. Shulanberger said a number of events are in the works, including the popular Blue & Gold Sausage.
