WYNONA SCHOOL NOTES

(Submitted by Superintendent Dixie Hurd)

Welcome back! Our school year is off to a great start. We welcome Mrs. Murguia as our P.E./coach/upper grade teacher! She is the only new person we have so far. We wish Ms. Anthony and Mr. Supernaw good luck in their new positions at other schools!

We started off this year with more students than last year. The first week has flown by!

We have a new morning procedure for dropping students off. Please enter through the south entry of the administration parking lot and pull all the way forward. Cars will then exit to the west side of the parking lot. There is no parking in the spaces nearest the building. Students should exit cars from the east side and then go straight to the cafeteria if eating lunch or before 8:12. There is no morning recess. Students are welcome on campus any time after 8:05. Breakfast will be served from 8:05-8:25. At 8:12, or after breakfast, students go straight to the building, take care of drinks and restroom breaks and be in their seats ready to begin at 8:30 A.M. After 8:30, students will need an admit from the office and will be counted tardy. We appreciate the willingness of our parents to be flexible! We are always trying to improve the safety factors in our school.

Thank you to our teachers, parents and students for participating in our meet your teacher night. Mrs. Shaw did a great job in presenting our reading plan for the year. Let’s join together and be positive and make it a great school year!

VETERAN REPRESENTATIVE AT WYNONA TOWN HALL

Just a reminder that Lee Webb, VFW Service Officer, is still coming to the Town Hall from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Fridays to help veterans with their benefits. Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center from 9 - 11 a.m., in Wynona from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and in Hominy from 1 - 2 p.m. Those who live in other towns and need assistance can come to one of these locations to meet with Lee. Lee wanted to remind everyone that he will also be at Cleveland at the City Hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, as well.
