SCHOOL STARTS!

Wynona Schools started on Aug. 11. School supply lists are available at the school office and at the town hall. This is a good time to remind drivers that the school zone is 25 miles per hour when the lights are flashing. We want to protect our young students in every way possible.

VETERAN REPRESENTATIVE AT WYNONA TOWN HALL

Just a reminder that Lee Webb, VFW Service Officer, is still coming to the Town Hall from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Fridays to help veterans with their benefits. Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center from 9 - 11 a.m., in Wynona from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and in Hominy from 1 - 2 p.m. Those who live in other towns and need assistance can come to one of these locations to meet with Lee. Lee wanted to remind everyone that he will also be at Cleveland at the City Hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, as well.

DOG PROBLEMS!

Wynonans are still plagued daily by dogs running at large. The Town Hall gets calls every day about people letting their dogs run loose. It keeps the dog catcher hopping. It is town ordinance that people keep their dogs contained on their own property. We have had reports of dogs penning people in their cars where they can’t get out and also running loose in other people’s yards. Citations will be issued to those who do not control their dogs.

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY!

A surprise birthday party was held at the home of Ben and Linda Ware to honor Linda’s brother, Jim Stephens on his 80th birthday. There were 20 or so people in attendance from Oklahoma City to Kansas City. It was a breakfast surprise and he was well pleased with the surprise.

CONDOLENCES

Wynonans were so sorry to hear about the death of Kennon Weaver, who passed away suddenly at his home. Kennon was a good friend to all who knew him. He was a good neighbor and a good family man. Condolences to his family and friends. We will all miss Kennon.
