Season to Taste

One old TV series coined the catch phrase, “Just the facts ma’am, just the facts.”

In seemed in every episode, he and his investigative partner spent the majority of their time collecting valuable information to solve the crime of the day. CSI it clearly wasn’t.

My friend, Kathy Scott, shared a few of her quick and easy recipes with me. I’m passing them along to you. They are basic, no frills, and I do believe, “just the facts.”

Drag That Net Over Here And Fix These Recipes

HOMINY CASSEROLE: 2 cans hominy (drained), 1 small jar of hot flavored Cheez Whiz, 1 can mushroom soup, 1 small can green chilies, chopped, plain Doritos. Combine first 4 ingredients. Crush Doritos on top. Heat in hot oven until hot and bubbly.

BACON BITES: 1 package bacon, cut slices in half about 4 to 5 inches long, 2 cans water chestnuts. Wrap bacon around each chestnut, fasten with toothpicks. Place in a shallow baking dish. Sauce: 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup catsup, 1 Tbsp. worchestershire sauce, 1 tsp. mustard. Mix well. Spoon over chestnuts: Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Quick Mexicorn: 2 cans Mexicorn, 1 package frozen broccoli, 1 small jar Meximild Cheez Whiz

Cook corn with the broccoli until tender. Drain well. Add Cheez Whiz and serve.
