For a limited time, area youth can drop off their letters to Santa at the official North Pole mail box located at Tallgrass Prairie Flowers & More at 131 East Main in Pawhuska.
“Cost is $5 plus a stamped self-addressed envelope,” said Tina Avallone of Tallgrass Prairie Flowers & More. “That’s the cost to mail the letter or art to the North Poll. Each child will receive a written acknowledgement from Santa that their letter arrived safely at the North Pole.
“Pawhuska Youth Sports will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from this event.”
Children also have the option of including art work up 13”x20”. By special arrangement with Santa’s elves, copies of all letters will be sent to the Journal Capital for publication.
Animal lovers should know that Tallgrass Prairie Flowers also has reindeer food available for $2.
“Reindeer food is a special blend of oats, hay and a little glitter that helps the reindeer to fly faster,” explained Avallone. “They set it outside for the reindeer. Our children did this last year and loved seeing where the reindeer had nibbled at it or trampled the mixture on the ground.”
Avallone reiterated that all proceeds from “Santa’s Mail Box” will benefit the Pawhuska Youth Sports. She also wanted to remind everyone that Tallgrass Prairie Flowers will be launching their 3rd annual Santa Kid’s Shop Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m.
“Santa Kid’s Shop is for the children to shop for family members and friends,” said Avallone. “Gift wrapping is included and our sales associates are more than happy to help our young clients with their shopping.”
