Pawhuska High School Class of 1963 will celebrate its 50th Class Reunion Labor Day weekend.
Planners promise a weekend filled with fun and camaraderie. The reunion kicks off Friday, Aug. 30, with registration at the Methodist Church Family Life Center, 621 Leahy, from 1 -3 p.m.
Following registration, attendees are invited to spend the afternoon visiting and touring Pawhuska’s revitalized downtown. The Elks Lodge will host dinner with a light dinner featuring a baked potato and salad bar.
Saturday’s events begin with breakfast at the Family Life Center at 8:30 a.m. with a picnic lunch at Williams Park at 12:30 p.m. featuring sandwiches from Bad Brad’s BBQ and/or the Pig Stand. The afternoon will be open for shopping, visiting local museums and touring the Catholic Church’s “Cathedral of the Osage” and “Saint Kateri Tekakwitha” Shrine. The Grandview Inn will host a buffet-style dinner at 7 p.m.
Boone said sometime during the reunion, PHS Alumni Jim Rector has arranged for a group photo on the grounds where the old high school sat.
“Rector has someone who is going to Photoshop the picture with a black and white picture of the old high school,” said Boone. “It should make an eerie pic. Additional group ops are also planned at the historic Grandview Inn.”
The reunion concludes Sunday morning when attendees meet for breakfast at Buffalo Joe’s from 9 - 11 a.m.
Linda Boone is especially proud of her graduating class.
“We are the only PHS alums to have established an annual scholarship fund in our class name,” said Boone. “The program is administered through the Pawhuska Public School Foundation. This year we have set a modest goal of raising $5,000 additional monies for our scholarship fund.”
For any PHS Alum wishing to establish a scholarship fund in their class name, contact Jim Rector at email@example.com or Linda Boone at 918-287-3711.
