Barbara Strahm and Bobbie Tolson were honored as P.E.O. Golden Girls during the club’s state convention last weekend in Enid. They were among 51 members who joined the philanthropic organization in 1964.
P.E.O. (Providing Educational Opportunities) is an international sisterhood of 250,000 members. Their primary focus is to provide educational opportunities for female students through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College. Headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, the Sisterhood has chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Strahm is a member of P.E.O. Chapter EM. Tolson is a member of P.E.O. Chapter P.
