Friendly competition is a draw

Mother Andrea Jones of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and Pastor Kathy Morris of First United Methodist Church called the great Flour and Sugar Challenge between the two congregations a “draw.” The two congregations accumulated more than 1,200 pounds of flour and sugar for the Pawhuska Ministerial Alliance sponsored Christ’s Cupboard.

Weigh-in of the two commodities for Christ’s Cupboard came in a little less than 1,200 pounds. Bother ministers conceded the true winners of this challenge are the recipients of the flour and sugar who will receive them. These items and other food staples are available Tuesdays and Thursdays at Christ’s Cupboard from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

This was the second year for the spirited challenge. Both congregations enjoyed the friendly competition as it spurred them on to give more.
