Drummond Home News

Twenty one members of the Corvette Friends of Tulsa came to tour the Fred Drummond Home on Saturday, March 8. What a friendly and wonderful group these folks are! It was a fun afternoon for all!

The Friends of the Drummond Home would like to invite you all to the next Friend’s Meeting, which will be held Thursday, March 20, starting at 7 p.m. at the home site. We encourage you all to attend and participate!

April is Quilt Month for the Drummond home and we are looking for quilters who would like to show their works of art! The exhibit will start the first day of April and last the entire month. We will be displaying many of Addie Drummmond’s quilts as well as ones belonging the local ladies in the surrounding area.

If anyone is interested in participating this year, please call me at 918-885-2374 and I will give you more details.

REcipe of the week is:

OKLAHOMA PECAN PIE

taken from “A Taste of the Drummond Home” cookbook:

3 eggs, well beaten

1/4 teas salt

1 cup sugar

1 cup pecans

1 teas vanilla

3/4 cup of white corn syrup

1/4 cup melted butter

Add sugar, syrup, salt, and vanilla to beaten eggs. Mix well. Stir in melted butter and pecans. Pour into pastry shell and bake at 350 degrees 45 to 55 minutes.

The Drummond Home is located at 305 North Price Street, Hominy, OK 74035. Our hours of operation are: Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the first tour starting at 10 a.m. and the last at 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the last tour starting at 4 p.m.
