Downtown merchants welcome Cavalcaders

American Heritage Bank won 1st Place for its unique western-themed welcome for the 67th Annual International Roundup Clubs Cavalcade. In addition to the resting cowboy, the Bank’s entrance featured assorted area cattle brands and a gate painted on the front doors noting, “… Gates open, come on in.”

The Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce invited downtown businesses to spruce up their store fronts as a show of support of the 67th Annual International Roundup Clubs Cavalcade.

Particpants included Sister’s Attic, Tallgrass Prairie Flowers, Premier Gun & Pawn, Mudpies, American Heritage Bank, Pawhuska Hometown Foods, the Osage Nation Communities of Excellence, and Sweeney’s Salon. Cavalcade Queen Contestants served as judges.

American Heritage Bank won 1st Place which entitled them to ride in the Cavalcade’s Saturday Grand Entries. Coming in 2nd was Sweeney’s Salon which won two reservations for the Chamber’s 2014 Gala. Tallgrass Prairie Flowers came in 3rd and received two Chamber T-shirts.

“We had a great turnout this year and appreciate the support of our community and our businesses,” said Chamber Event Coordinator Reba Bruno.
