CONSTANTINE EVENTS ANNOUNCED

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16, play auditions will be held at the Constantine Theater for the upcoming production of “The Timid Dragon.”

At 2 p.m. Aug. 17, the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” rated G, will be played. Admission is $2.

The Constantine Opry country music show will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 23. Admission is by donation.

BEDFORD BLUES & BBQ FESTIVAL ANNOUNCED

Music lovers will find the 2014 Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival a feast for the senses.

The three-day event returns Aug. 29-31 with blues legends Shemekia Copeland, Robert Cray and a barbecue cook-off featuring 70 teams.

WAH ZHA ZHI CULTURAL CENTER HOSTS STORY TIME

Story time is held at 1 p.m. every Tuesday at the Wah Zha Zhi Cultural Center in Pawhuska.

Come hear a story about Coyote’s tricks, Beaver’s selfishness, the meaning behind Turtle’s scales and much more. After each story is read, children will make a simple craft as a reminder of the story’s lesson.

DRUMMOND HOME STYLE SHOW SET FOR AUGUST 16

The Drummond Home will hold a Downtown Abbey themed style show at 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 204 North Price Street in Hominy.

Martha Ray and her models from Pawnee will be present to show styles from the early 1900s to the late 1920s.

The Drummond Home is taking reservations for 50 guests until the end of July. Tickets sell for $10 each and can be purchased at the Drummond Home or by mail: 305 North Price, Hominy, OK 74035. Ticket reservations will ensure a place for the style show, door prizes and some great food.
