The 4th Annual Sassy Awards provided its guests with outstanding entertainment. The talented performers were students of the D’Lynn Everett Music School in Bartlesville. Each vocalist was part of an elite group that attended a workshop last fall at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

First up was Josie Zepeda who sang “Someone Like You” from the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde. Zepeda has been studying at the Everett Music School for two years. She began performing in church when she was four years old. Since 2005, Zepeda has been in 20 different stage productions, including Music Man and the Wizard of Oz. She also had the lead role of Cinderella at Wesleyan Christian School and the role of Miss Amelia in the Children’s Musical Theater production of A Little Princess. Most recently, Zepeda won talent contests in Sunfest, Freedom Fest and the Washington County Free Fair.

Next up was 11-year old Austin Partridge who sang “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera. Partridge is also a two-year student of the Everett Music School. He performed with the Broadway Touring Show Wizard of Oz at the Bartlesville Community Center and the CMT productions of Willie Wonka and the Little Princess. Partridge also had lead roles in the EMS production Yes, Virginia and Suessical at Bartlesville High School.

The final Sassy Awards performer was Olivia Wilt who sang “On My Own” from the musical Les Misérables. Wilt is a five-year veteran of the Everett Music School. Wilt has performed in two Wesleyan Christian productions — The Sound of Music and Annie where she played the lead role. This fall Wilt will attend a workshop in New York City which will focus on the musicals Newsies and Wicked.
