OETA program to reveal ‘Magic of Woolaroc’

A new documentary from the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority’s arts and culture series will premiere next month.

“Gallery,” an award-winning documentary series, will explore the “Magic of Woolaroc,” a storied Oklahoma destination, at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 on OETA.

The documentary explores the famous museum and wildlife preserve located near Barnsdall, including the creation and history of the area once known to be “a western wonderland to woo the world.”

Learn the story behind Woolaroc, founded by famous oilman Frank Phillips, who established the area to bring his famous clients and friends to Oklahoma.

“Gallery” also spotlights the Phillips legacy and a new effort to revive what became known as the “Magic of Woolaroc.”

As part of this special edition of “Gallery,” OETA has launched a statewide contest for viewers to select their favorite “Gallery” episode and share their picks for a chance to win a family four pack of tickets to the Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve and a Woolaroc coffee table book.

Contest details, including links to “Gallery’s” online archive, can be found at www.oeta.tv.

Each month “Gallery” captures the best Oklahoma has to offer in all forms of art, including dance, sculpture, education, music, painting, photography, performances and more from every part of the state.

The Oklahoma Network consistently engages Oklahomans across the state with educational and public media content, outreach initiatives and online features that collectively encourages lifelong learning.
